Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4.4 Kitkat update to its Xperia range of smartphones. This is one of the critical update compared to previous updates. The latest Android update brings changes such as better power management, location based WiFi and queuing background data along with better management for low batteries. The Android Kitkat for Sony Xperia smartphones are now available for Indian customers too.

1. Through OTA
You can update your Sony Xperia Device through the OTA update. To do this go to Settings->About Phone-> Software Updates. This is not recommended as the size of the download is high. This is recommended if and only if you have high speed WiFi connectivity.
2. Through Sony Update Center PC Suite:
To update through Sony Update Center PC suite, you download the update center from here.
Then run the application and select the device of your from the list. Then connect your Xperia Device to PC through USB in Switch off mode. Wait for some time to updates to be completed.
