Samsung has recently launched the successor to its one of the popular budget Android dual sim smartphone Samsung Galaxy S Duos. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 brings many upgrades in terms of hardware and software. But the real question raises is, Does it worth to upgrade the device from Galaxy S Duos to Galaxy S Duos 2? 2. CPU And RAM: Though Samsung has not increased the RAM, it added 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 process which is theoretically 1.8 times faster than the CPU which is found on Galaxy S Duos. The disadvantage here is, we get only the 768 MB RAM which restricts playing high end games and causes occasional lags. The new Galaxy S Duos 2 brings more power but RAM is the only con. The GPU of the new device is Videocore IV which is much better than the Adreno 200 which is found on the S duos.,
3. Connectivity Features: There is no changes are made in this. The same 2G, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth are available in the device. The PC suite for Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 also the same which Samsung Kies 2.6.
4. Display: Once again, the display is same as that of Galaxy S Duos in the new device too. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 sports 4 inch WVGA display screen.
5. Camera: Though in terms of pixel count both the rear and front camera are same in Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2, the video recording ability increased to 720p instead of 480p max video recording of its predecessor.
6. Battery: Both the old and new Galaxy S Duos has same 1500mAh battery. There is no change has been made on that.
7. Storage: There is incremental changes in the internal storage which remained at 4GB. But external storage support capacity increased to 64GB from 32GB.
Conclusion: Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 does not bring major upgrade over its predecessor. However, the price remained almost. Considering price of Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2, one can go for this if you are buying the new device. Having said that, Samsung Galaxy Core is a much better value for money device.
