Samsung has unveiled its much anticipated Galaxy S4. The new successor of Samsung Galaxy S3 features a new 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixel which results in a massive pixel density of 441 ppi. The Screen uses PenTile Matrix though it will not matter considering the high pixel density.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in 2 variants. The global variant of Galaxy S4 will be powered by Exynos 5 Octa chipset, which features four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.6GHz, four Cortex-A7 cores running at 1.2GHz and the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU. In other hand, the second variant will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with its 4 Krait 300 cores and Adreno 320 GPU. Both the variants will be offering LTE and 2GB of RAM.
For taking snaps, Samsung added a 13MP primary camera and a 2.1MP front facing camera which enables host of features such as eye-tracking and hand-tracking along with regular video calling and video chat.
When it comes to design, Samsung Galaxy S4 is slimmer than the Galaxy S3 with just 7.9mm even though screen size is increased. The device has hyperglaze finish which is used in its predecessor also.
Samsung Galaxy S4 will provide three memory options to chose from 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. All these variants will support microSD card for memory expansion as well.
Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a IR blaster which you can use as a remote control with your TV and various other home appliances.
As expected, Samsung Galaxy S4 runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS alongwith several handy features such as Sound and Shot which captures 9 second clip with sound, Drama Shot which captures a burst of photos and combining all of them in one image.
Samsung Galaxy S4 will be shipped in two colors-White Frost and Black Mist. The price of Samsung Galaxy S4 is not yet revealed. This device will be compete with the likes of HTC Butterfly and Sony Xperia Z.
