Samsung has unveiled new big screen Dual sim Android Jelly Bean running smartphone called Galaxy Grand. The device is available in two models namely I9080 which is a single sim version and I9082 dual sim variant. The Galaxy Grand runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS with Touchwiz user interface. The device will come with pre loaded usual range of Samsung features, including S Voice, multi window mode, Direct Call, AllShare Play, Smart Alert, Popup Play and all the Samsung Hubs.
Samsung Galaxy Grand comes with large 5 inch capacitive touch screen with screen resolution of WVGA 800*480 pixels which results in 186 ppi pixel density. The device is powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM. Galaxy Grand sports 8MP primary snapper with LED flash can shoot full HD videos. There is also a 2MP front facing camera for video calling.
Samsung Galaxy Grand comes with 8GB built in memory and supports microSD card upto 64GB. The other features of the device are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and sensors such as an acceleration compass, and gyroscopic sensor.
Looking at the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Grand, the only disadvantages seems is its screen resolution. This makes a point that, Samsung is targeting this model for budget conscious consumers. Though there is no communication on price, it is expected to be priced very aggressively.
Recently we have seen many local manufactures are releasing budget big screen Dual sim Android smartphones such as Micromax A110 Canvas 2, Andi 4.5H and Karbonn A30. Karbonn A30 has 6 inch capacitive multi touch screen which is even larger than Galaxy Note2.
