Samsung revealed the first ever Windows Phone 8 based smartphone named as Samsung ATIV S. This is the second flagship model released by Samsung in IFA. The first one is Samsung Galaxy Note II. Samsung ATIV S sports 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD resolution display screen with Gorilla Glass 2 on top for extra protection of the screen.
Samsung ATIV S is powered by dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait processor with 1GB of RAM. There is a 8MP primary camera in the back and 1.9 MP front facing camera. The dimensions of the phone are 137.2mm*70.5mm*8.7mm and weighs 135 grams. The device packs beefy 2300 mAh battery. From the connectivity front, this phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3 and NFC. Samsung ATIV S comes with 2 internal memory options 16GB or 32GB. Memory can be added through microSD card.
Samsung ATIV S price and availability are not yet revealed. However it is expected to hit the shelves immediately after Microsoft officially releases the Windows Phone 8 OS.
Samsung also planning to launch three Windows 8 powered tablets-the 10.1” ATIV Tab, and two 11.6” ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro.
